Review:
Enjoyable lute music
This is an enjoyable disc. Camerlohe was a new composer to me; his
music is amiable and listenable, but not all that memorable, I think.
However, Christoph Eglhuber and his chamber ensemble play it very
well so that it has genuine charm and some musical depth.
I suspect that this
is a disc for lute lovers like me rather than being of more general
appeal, but it is good to have these pieces available and played with
skill and commitment. It’s a worthwhile release which is well
worth a try.
